Project types

  • Diagrams — signal-flow projects
  • Rack projects — elevations and internal patch
  • LED wall / pixel map projects — cabinet grids and mapping
  • Related projects may link conceptually — use naming to tie them together

Naming conventions

  • Client — Install — Year (Acme — Summit Gala — 2026)
  • Include department when split (Acme — Gala — Video Diagram vs Acme — Gala — Video Rack)
  • Suffix revision when sending externally (— Rev2)
  • Avoid "Untitled" and "Final FINAL" — search breaks down fast

When to duplicate vs update

  • Update — same show, same deliverable evolving
  • Duplicate — template for next week, seasonal variant, what-if design
  • Duplicate — archive baseline before major redesign
