What the Diagram Builder is for

The Diagram Builder is WireFlow's signal-flow canvas — document how video, audio, and network gear connects before load-in.

When to use this

Start here if you have used generic diagram tools but not WireFlow's connection-aware canvas.

Purpose

The Diagram Builder maps how devices connect: camera SDI into a switcher, switcher program out to LED processor, Dante from console to amp, network from a switch to encoders.

Each device shows typed ports (inputs/outputs). Cables respect compatibility — HDMI does not land on an XLR port without you noticing.

What you can document

  • Production video path — cameras, switchers, recorders, monitors
  • Audio — consoles, wireless receivers, DSP, amplifiers
  • Network and streaming — switches, encoders, NDI/RTMP paths
  • Infrastructure — wall plates, floor boxes, patch panels (as device types)
  • Linked rack and LED previews when those projects exist in your account

Diagram vs other WireFlow builders

The diagram is the hub for signal logic. Rack Builder shows physical rack layout; LED Wall Builder shows cabinet grids; Wiring Plans turn connections into cable schedules.

You can work diagram-only for simple gigs, or link specialized builders when the show demands it.
